Art From Home

While doing "Distance Learning" we have adapted some of the same projects we would have done in school and added some new projects into the mix.

6th Grade Object Drawings

In this project students chose an Object or Instrument to draw, carefully observed the shapes that make up that object, and drew what they saw in front of them. Students sketched out a few ideas, picked a favorite idea, refined that drawing, and chose to keep it as a line drawing, a shaded pencil drawing or a fully colored drawing.

Animals

In this project students chose an animal they would like to explore how to draw. Students carefully observed the shapes that make up that animal, sketched out a few ideas, picked a favorite idea, refined that drawing, and chose to keep it as a line drawing, a shaded pencil drawing or a fully colored drawing.

Found Object Color Wheels

In this project students went on a scavenger hunt at home to find all the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary colors, and then assembled them in color wheel order. We have some VERY creative color wheels!

Portraits

In this project students chose a photograph of a person to draw from. They learned gridding techniques and carefully observed the shapes and proportions that comprise that person in the photograph. From there, they drew their portraits as close to resembling the photograph as possible while taking some "artistic license" along the way.
