Still Life of Fruit

Fourth grade artists learned about artist Paul Cezanne and his use of form, light, and shadow to create realistic looking still life artwork.  Inspired by Cezanne, artists then used chalk pastels to create still life drawings of fruit.

Pop Art Emoji Prints

After learning about Pop Art and artist Andy Warhol, fourth grade artists used Emojis - something popular today - as inspiration for their own series of prints.  Artists created relief prints using styrofoam and ink after choosing an emotion/emoji to work with.  Finished work was mounted, signed, and given a unique title.

Color-Mixing Landscapes

Fourth grade artists created their own landscape art after learning about Xavier Castellenos, a Swiss-born, Mexican artist.  Artists used paint to explore color-mixing and blending.  Artists were encouraged to add unique details and utilize the parts of a landscape in their work.
